Massage Therapy Canmore - Anne Walton

Anne obtained her US National Massage license in 2003 while living in Flagstaff, Arizona. She worked for 2 yrs. at a busy chiropractic clinic as well as the US Olympic Centre for High Altitude Training focusing on deep tissue and sports massage while working with Olympic swimmers, cyclists and runners.

When she returned to Canada, she then graduated from an intensive 2500-hr. program in Ottawa in 2007. She is trained in the assessment and treatment of soft tissue and joints of the body. Her techniques include myofascial release, trigger points, neuromuscular work, joint mobilizations and range of movement. She also specializes in pregnancy and post-partum massage. She is particularly focused on helping people gain awareness of their muscular imbalances and often includes remedial exercises in her treatment plans.

Anne returned to the Bow Valley three years ago and has had the opportunity to work with many National and Olympic level Nordic and Para-Nordic skiers prior to and since the 2010 Olympics. She is a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Alberta (MTAA).

Anne is an avid mountain biker, having raced as a pro in the North American downhill circuit for several years and broken numerous body parts to prove it! She is also a long-time telemark and skate skier and enjoys nothing more than to backcountry ski in this spectacular part of the world.

Needless to say, she is thrilled to be back in the community of Canmore and welcomes all old and new clients!
