Lisa has been a physiotherapist for over 20 years and has been lucky enough to practise in Canmore for most of that time. She grew up in Scotland where she earned her bachelors degree in physiotherapy and her masters degree in sports science. Since graduation she has pursued extensive education and has advanced professional qualifications in manual/manipulative therapy, needling procedures (anatomical acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation - IMS) and rehabilitative exercise prescription. She thoroughly enjoys treating all of the aches, pains and injuries of people in our active town and she particularly loves the challenge of helping people with complex, 'hard to figure out' problems. Lisa has special interest and training in TMJ (jaw) problems and MVA (car accident) injuries. She also has a great deal of experience doing assessments for custom foot orthotics, with a focus on mechanical correction for sporting and work footwear.

Lisa has always loved sports. She grew up as a competitive swimmer and has competed in triathlons for over 20 years. She is an Ironman Canada finisher (2001) and an Xterra (off road) Triathlon World Championship finisher (2010). Thanks to an assortment of fast teammates she has also won several medals at at our local 24hrs of Adrenalin mountain bike race. As well as continuing to train for triathlons, Lisa now fights the onset of middle age (!) with yoga and gym workouts. As her kids grow up she is having fun trying to keep up with them on the ski trails and at the hill.
